A week after Lil Wayne tweeted he was “defenseless” and “mentally defeated” following his lawsuit against Universal Music Group being postponed due to other legal issues involving Birdman and Cash Money Records, the rapper has channeled his creative energy into a brand-new surprise track. “Grateful” has dropped exclusively on Tidal, and as Billboardnotes, the lyrics appear to address hisnotorious feud with Birdman and Cash Money: “I been working hard for no prize / I’m still grateful though I show pride / And you don’t see Stunna right next to me / And I won’t see Stunna write checks to me / They can’t put no more Weezy Baby out / That’s that Cash Money vasectomy.”
